Hunters Marsh Retrievers, Kim, Bill and ET Moses, offer you the ultimate hunting and hunt test scenario in a relaxed learning environment:  two days of intensive work for you and your retriever.  This Challenge is for the hunter and hunt test person running AKC at the Junior, Senior or Master level, or UKC at the Started, Seasoned or Finished level.  In two days you will run 22 to 24 Challenging land and water blinds.  You will run blinds over points and past points, and do parallel-to-the-shore blinds. We will teach you how to read your dog’s body language, when to stop and handle your dog, how to get the correct cast, what to do if the dog does not stop on the whistle or take your cast. You will learn timing.  At the completion of the Challenge you will have learned to run blinds on land and water with skill and confidence.

You will also run a set of land and water marks with blinds. You will be called to the line from a holding blind, carry and shoulder a shotgun. You will have a walk-up, diversion birds and poison birds. You will honor another working dog. Your dog will think he is at a hunt test.  If you need help we are here to walk you step by step through the process and will show you how to correct any problems that occur.

  • Want to learn to run blinds or do advanced hunt test work but your dog is not at that level?
  • We have loaner dogs for you to run.
  • Our land and water blinds and hunt tests are changed weekly.
  • Our water is simply phenomenal!

Does your dog need land and water marks?  Then this Challenge is for you.  It will consist of marks on land and water.  You can select singles, doubles or triples.  If you have a young or older dog, this is a great way to do a multitude of very different marks.  You will be amazed at the variety of land and water we have to Challenge you and your dog.

We work with you one on one showing you how to:

  • Heel your dog from the holding blind to the line with him heeling at your side without a lead.

  • How to send your dog for each mark and howt o position your dog for each mark

  • All different kinds of marks on land and water

  • Honoring another working dog on land and water.

  • Correcting a dog who creeps ahead of you on the line.

  • When and how to handle your dog on a mark on land and water.

If you know it all, then you just get to pick up wonderful land and water marks with your dog.
