Hunters Marsh Retrievers has been breeding duel-purpose classic labs since 1971. Through 29 years of selective conscientious breeding, we have developed a line of Labrador Retrievers that are genetically sound. Our lines are free of inherited eye problems including PRA and RD, muscle problems, hip and elbow dysplasia, and epilepsy. Our dogs are AKC - DNA profiled. This is your guarantee of unequaled breeding integrity. Our select breeding program produces high-quality Labrador Retrievers for hunting, hunt tests, field trials, and family companions. We do not believe that all dogs should be bred. We have very high standards when it comes to breeding. We believe males and females being bred should possess outstanding qualities--sound temperament, trainability, conformation, and intense retrieving desire. They need to possess all the traits that make the Labrador Retriever such a wonderful breed. Too many people are breeding dogs that no longer look like Labs. They are hyper dogs that are not a pleasure to be with. If a dog does not possess all of the qualities we feel Labrador Retrievers should have, they are never bred. Our Select Breeding Program includes males and females that are titled AKC Master Hunters and UKC Hunting Retriever Champions. Our dogs are used for hunting and excel as both upland and waterfowl dogs. Hunters Marsh pups are born and raised in the house, fully socialized, complete with individual house time. They are introduced to loud noises, taken for walks, started on retrieving bumpers and birds. Each time they are fed, they are taken outside to air. This provides the new owner with a good start on house training. If the weather permits, they are introduced to water.Whether you are a hunter, run hunt tests, or field trials, let us assure you that when you purchase a Hunters Marsh pup, you are not getting just another pup--you are buying a dog from generations of exceptional working dogs that we have bred. We breed the old-fashioned classic lab, the dog that loves to lie next to your chair with a calm temperament, but is always ready to go hunting. Our pups are sold with a written guarantee for hips, health and eyes, have first parvo and corona virus and DHP inoculations. Each puppy is given a thorough examination by our veterinarian being sure it is healthy and ready to go to its new home. Microchipping for our puppies is available upon request. We are happy to provide references of Hunters Marsh puppy owners.

OUR TRAINING PHILOSOPHY At Hunters Marsh we know that all dogs are different and have different capacities for learning--no one program will work for all dogs. We design and establish an individual training program that fits the needs of each dog. This assures success for the dog as well as the owner. That is where our combined 43 years of training experience comes into play. We establish a program for the dog based on patience and repetition--one that produces stylish Hunting, Hunt Test, and Field Trial dogs--dogs that are a pleasure to work and exciting to watch! We do not believe in assembly line dog training. We encourage owners to participate in our dog training program. WE TRAIN YOUR DOG AND WE TRAIN YOU. When you take your dog home, you will know how to do maintenance drills and how to correct problems so that you and your retriever will work as a team.
